Delta Gamma Chapter Marks 75 Years with Milestone Donation to Shaw University
RALEIGH, NC - The bonds of fraternity and a commitment to higher education took center stage April 2026 as the Delta Gamma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. celebrated its 75th Charter Anniversary. The diamond jubilee, held April 24-25, served as both a powerful reunion for generations of brothers and a significant philanthropic success, culminating in a major gift to Shaw University.
The weekend was defined by "Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor," as brothers from across the country converged on Raleigh to honor the chapter's storied legacy and invest in the future of the institution that houses its history.
A Weekend of Fellowship and Tradition
The festivities kicked off Friday evening with a casual Kookout at the Raleigh (NC) Alumni House. The atmosphere was one of relaxed joy as brothers reconnected over food and shared memories, setting a foundation of brotherhood that would carry through the weekend
On Saturday morning, the brotherhood returned to its roots. The sounds of traditional Kappa songs echoed across the campus of Shaw University as members gathered to pay homage to the institution that has served as the bedrock for the Delta Gamma Chapter since its inception.
The celebration transitioned to the Hilton Raleigh North Hills on Saturday evening for the weekend's centerpiece events.
The evening began with a closed meeting for brothers, a sacred time for reflection on the chapter's 75-year journey and a recommitment to the fraternity's core values.
Following the meeting, the ballroom opened for a grand buffet-style dinner. Kappa brothers, their wives, and guests enjoyed an evening of fine dining and community. The night concluded with music by DJ Stan, where attendees celebrated the milestone on the dance floor late into the evening.
Investing in the Future of Shaw University
While the weekend was a celebration of the past, the Delta Gamma Chapter remained focused on its duty to support the next generation. The chapter announced that it successfully raised over $10,000 during the anniversary weekend.
The funds were formally designated for the Shaw University National Alumni Association, a move intended to bolster the university's mission and provide support for current and future
A Legacy Continued
The 75th Charter Anniversary stands as a testament to the enduring strength of the Delta Gamma Chapter. By blending the celebration of lifelong brotherhood with a substantial financial contribution to their host institution, the men of Kappa Alpha Psi have once again demonstrated their dedication to service and the Raleigh community.
As the music faded and the weekend drew to a close, the impact of the $10,000 donation remained a lasting reminder that the Delta Gamma legacy is built on the pillars of scholarship, service, and an unbreakable bond of brotherhood.
