Gastonia/Shelby(NC) Alumni - Closing out Founders’ Day Weekend

The Gastonia/Shelby (NC) Alumni Chapter celebrated this years Founders’ Day on J5 with a reclamation brotherhood outing at Hickory Tavern in Gastonia.  Over 40 brothers brothers were in attendance including one of the charter members of the chapter, Brother Otis Ramseur.  Through out the weekend Chapter Brothers attended local celebrations including the Charlotte Alumni Chapter’s Flashing Lights event. The celebration concluded on Sunday, January 8 with the chapter brothers and family worshiping together at the St. Stephens AME Zion Church in Gastonia.  During this worship service the chapter presented the church clothing ministry with over 100 adult and child coats collected by chapter brothers during our “Warm and Worship” Coat Drive.  St. Stephens Church administration sent a “thank you so very much for your presence, presents and your prayers. You all blessed us and for that we are grateful.”  The chapter plans to continue the partnership with St. Stephens in other public service opportunities in the future.
