Grand Board of Directors 2020 Non Partisanship Policy-August 21, 2020

The Grand Board of Directors has adopted the fraternity’s 2020 Non-Partisanship Policy. It is attached to this correspondence. We request that all chapters, provinces, and brothers adhere to the approved policy.  This is very important as we protect and uphold the brand of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. The fraternity’s status as a 501c(7) organization has defined Internal Revenue Service regulations for which we must follow.

Kappa Alpha Psi will not engage in Prohibited Activities such as:

  1. In connection with the support of, or opposition to, candidates for public office within the meaning of sections 501(c)(3) and 4955 of the Internal Revenue Code; or

  2. In connection with any encouragement to vote for or against any political party or public policy issue;

  3. With preference for or against any voter or potential voter on the basis of that voter or potential voter’s political party membership or preference, or on the basis of that voter or potential voter’s opinion on public policy issues.

No chapters or brothers have the authority to use the intellectual trademarks of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc, other organizations or corporations without seeking official permission to do so, and therefore must not engage in any such ventures on behalf of the Grand Chapter or the fraternity itself.   No “Authorized Vendor” has permission to use the intellectual trademarks of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. for any political purposes.  Violations of this notification will result with the vendor license being “terminated immediately”
