The New Bern (NC) Alumni Chapter hosted its first Annual Scholarship Dinner & Dance on Feb. 10th. The event, titled Red & White Scholarship Dinner & Dance to honor the Valentine's holiday was held at the famous Flame Catering and Banquet Centre in New Bern, NC. Over 150 guests and Brothers enjoyed a fabulous buffet dinner, by famed Chef James "Smoke" Boyd. Bro DJ Icee Stan (Glen Stanley) of Durham (NC) Alumni provided an awesome light show as well as the old and new school jams, with comedian, 2 CUPs, providing a hilarious stand-up routine.
The Brothers honored Polemarch Taurance Williams for his years of leadership, dedication, and service, including public recognition of his leading the New Bern High School Football Team to a 4A State Championship, as assistant head coach! Bro. Tyrone Robertson, Membership Training Academy (MTA) Chairman was recognized as the Chapter Brother of the Year! Over the past 2 quarters, the Chapter has welcomed 3 new Brothers into the Bond!
The Chapter continues to make major impacts in service to its eastern NC community. Since providing inspiring support with hard physical work and fundraising after the devastating Hurricane Florence, the Chapter supports monthly Meals on Wheels, Adopt a Hwy, Thanksgiving turkey drives, and Christmas toy drives.
The Chapter is looking forward to hosting its 4th Annual Bro. Mayor Lee Morgan Memorial Golf Classic, this Memorial Day weekend, Saturday May 27th, 2023. They're inviting all Bros & golfers to the Crystal Coast for a great bonding and sporting event as it continues to raise funds for its Scholarship fund, as well as the rebuilding of the Stanley White Recreation Center destroyed by Hurricane Florence.
